Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
FaceKey was organized in 1999, long before people had heard of biometrics, i.e. fingerprint or face recognition. Thus began several years of R&D. At that time, the products were running on a repackaged PC and weighed 42 pounds each. Today, the units weight about 1.5 pounds, the result of minaturization over the last few years.
What is your primary product or service?
FaceKey manufactures access control, time & attendance systems and muster systems that use fingerprint or face recognition for identification.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I am a CPA and when I began to understand how profoundly biometrics would help managers reduce their operating costs, I wanted to make the products available at a price any business could afford. For example, time clocks pay for themselves in a very short time and cards are never needed. Who doesn't like that?
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our major differentiator is that our biometric products work as advertised. This has not always been true for our biometric competitors. AND, closely behimd that is our service. You can have the cell phone of the Customer Service Manager if you wish. Most of our service calls are because the user has forgotten how to do something.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are located in San Antonio. At this time, we do not have plans to expand.
Provide detailed directions to your location

Which areas do you service?

The President is Yevgeny Levitov and Annette H. Starkweather is the Chief Operating Officer. FaceKey is a small public company, (symbol FAKC).
What are your hours of operation?
The normal hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM,closed on national holidays. Other times are available by appointment.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The very best compliment is when the customer tells us that they has saved money and that the product is more than meeting their expectations.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
My favorite quote is: "Doing more with less". I like this quote, because it describes the current economy and in a few words describes the benefits of our products.
